Maureen adalah keponakan saya. Umurnya baru 10 tahun. Dia sekarang duduk di kelas 4 sekolah dasar bermutu internasional. Suatu hari, sepulang dari sekolah,  dia bercerita bahwa dia sedang jatuh cinta. 

Maureen: Aunty, I think I'm falling in love deh.

Me: Oya? With whom?

Maureen: His name is Carlo

Me: Wow... Do you think he is also falling for you?

Maureen: Yes, he said he loved me a week ago. I just didn't know how to respond him, so I shrugged. 

Me: Why don't you said "thank you"? Just be polite to him.

Maureen: Hmmm. *berpikir*. Well, Aunty, I think I'm going to say I love him back deh.

Me: Eh. Why?

Maureen: Because he is nice to me. Sometimes other boys are mean to me. When I approach them, they don't treat me well. But, Carlo always stays beside me. We love to draw together and he always shares his lunch with me. He is nice. I think I wanna be his girlfriend. Maybe, I will marry him. 

Me: *terhenyak*. Ok, but first, you must finish your school ya. Someday, you can ask Carlo to play at home. I wanna meet him. 

Maureen: Okay. Bye Aunty. 

Kata-kata Maureen, nancep di hati saya. Sebuah kalimat sederhana dari anak perempuan, " I love him because he is nice to me."
